Available Courses

  • This Koha Camp took place at PALINET, in Philadelphia, January 11, 2008.
  • You've heard about the open-source movement in libraries, now's your chance to participate in it! KohaCamp is designed for library coders interested in getting involved in development and community-building of the Koha Integrated Library System. It's a place where teams of software developers team up and solve real-world problems.

By the end of the KohaCamp event, you will be able to:
    • Navigate through the Koha community, find and communicate with other Koha users throughout the world
    • Install and configure Koha 3
    • Understand and navigate the source code tree using Git (revision control system)
    • Make improvements to Koha templates, modules, scripts, and/or utilities
    • Send your improvements as patches to the Koha community, for inclusion in the next version
Every attendee will be provided with a 'Koha Developer's Toolkit', designed to lower the barrier to entry for installation and submission of enhancements to the Koha project, and a Virtual Machine on a hosted server for use during and after the workshop. Attendees will be introduced to several technologies during the workshop, including Apache, MySQL, Perl, Git (Version Control System), Zebra, IRC, and more.
